There is
a big difference between a traditional agent, buyer agent and
exclusive buyer agent. Knowing the difference can save you money.
When you work with Homebuyer Associates, you are working with
an Exclusive Buyer Agent. We don't face conflicts of interest
other agents do because we know who we represent 100% of the time
- you. Here's why it costs little or nothing for our services.

- Purchase
price. The basis upon which a commission is paid. Traditional
agents make more money if you spend more money.
- The commission
paid by the seller (a percentage of the sale price). Agents
split this fee 60% - 40%.
- The Listing
agent, the agent with the lawn sign, works for the seller and
keeps 60%.
- The Selling
agent, works for the seller and keeps 40%. Many consumers believe
this agent works for them. Not true, this agent also represents
the seller.
Homebuyer Associates eliminates the selling agent ("D")
and keeps that money as our contract. For example,
Homebuyer
Associates' contract fee: $4,700
Amount credited to Homebuyer Associates
(Col. D) $4,800
The difference between our contract
and column D is $100, returned to client
Now you have
someone working for you, Homebuyer Associates, your exclusive
buyer agents.
*The
commission is negotiated by each real estate listing firm and
is noted for illustration only.
